Points are only one part of a provincial application. You must also satisfy the stream’s eligibility, documentation, status, occupation and employer requirements.
Understanding the Saskatchewan scoring system
Saskatchewan runs one of the few provincial programs with a published pass mark. The International Skilled Worker grid awards up to 110 points across education, work experience inside and outside the most recent five years, both official languages, age and Saskatchewan connections, and a registration needs at least 60 points before it can be considered. That structure makes the calculator especially useful for planning, because you can see exactly which factor closes the gap to 60 when a first estimate falls short.
Two factors carry unusual weight compared with other provinces. A close family relative living in Saskatchewan contributes 20 points on its own, and a high-skilled employment offer contributes 30, so candidates with either connection often clear the threshold even with moderate language results. Candidates without a connection usually need strong education and CLB 7 or higher to reach a competitive position, and should confirm that their occupation is not on the excluded list before relying on any score.
