How to use this result

This is the EOI ranking score, not the separate 60-point Skilled Worker Overseas eligibility worksheet.

Risk factors can reduce the score.

Points are only one part of a provincial application. You must also satisfy the stream’s eligibility, documentation, status, occupation and employer requirements.

Understanding the Manitoba scoring system

Manitoba ranks Expression of Interest profiles on a 1,000-point scale, which works very differently from the 100-point grids used elsewhere. More than half of the available points sit in two places: the Manitoba connection factor, where a close relative in the province is worth 200 points, and the demand factor, where ongoing Manitoba employment with a long-term offer or a strategic-initiative invitation is worth 500. This is why the program is often described as connection-driven rather than human-capital-driven.

The grid also subtracts points. Work experience or studies completed in another Canadian province each reduce a score by 100 points, reflecting Manitoba’s focus on retention. When you use the calculator, test your profile with and without these risk factors so you understand your realistic ranking position, and remember that this EOI score is separate from the 60-point eligibility worksheet used in the Skilled Worker Overseas assessment.
